Pre-shrunk to withstand indoor heating and air conditioning, natural cowhide is cut into squares and set onto durable birch plywood tiles. A foam sheet is applied first to guard against vapor, with tiles set into a fashionable pattern. Once installed, leather flooring can enhance any space for up to two to three decades.
Unlike the pliable material used in apparel, leather flooring is composed of the centermost part of cowhide. So its notably firmer and thicker. But, as with all leather furnishings and products, you’ll find that leather floors look even better in time. Small scratches, stains and general wear and tear bring out its character and help to define a room.
Maintenance and Care
Remove debris with a broom or vacuum, mopping or gently wiping with a damp cloth. Use minimal water, polishing and buffing with leather wax on occasion to protect the surface and boost its natural sheen.
